A week staying in Lamalou, and took the opportunity to explore the surrounding countryside on a few hikes.

One of the churches in the town is waiting for a replacement spire to be fitted…

Weather on the first day wasn’t very bright, and occasional spots of rain. Set off early, heading out of Lamalou, through Bardejean, La Blaquière and Le Pradal. Between Le Pradal and Villemagne l’Argentière, an ancient stone bridge (Pont du Diable), just down the river from a newer bridge (confusingly, also called Pont du Diable). The old one is higher on one side of the river than the other, still has the cobbled roadway, and was just wide enough for a cart to pass.

Then from Villemagne to Hérépian and back to Lamalou along the old railway line. A bit over 25 km for the circuit.
