La Ciotat Boat Trips
From La Ciotat, a couple of hours exploring the various calanques along the coast, past Cassis and towards Marseilles. In one of the photos of the sea cliffs, the Semaphore watch station is visible (at a height of 398m)
Just 500 metres offshore from La Ciotat, l’Ile Verte. Only about 400 metres long, the walking track around the island is only a couple of kilometers. Some ruins of old military installations (most recent, German installations destroyed during the diversionary Battle of La Ciotat in 1944. Real though the battle was, the diversionary tactics included the dropping of 300 dummy paratroopers).
